Man Killed by Stray Bullet Inside Delray Beach Home, Police Investigate

Delray Beach police are investigating a fatal shooting that left a man dead inside his own home early Friday morning.

Officers responded shortly after midnight to reports of gunfire in the 500 block of Northwest 5th Court. When police arrived, they found an adult man inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

According to investigators, the victim was not involved in the shooting. Police believe he was struck by a stray bullet that entered the home from outside. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.

At this time, no suspects have been arrested. Detectives are continuing to canvass the area, review evidence, and follow leads in an effort to determine where the gunfire originated and who was responsible.

The incident has shaken the surrounding neighborhood, highlighting concerns about gun violence and the dangers of stray bullets in residential areas. Police say even those who are not directly involved in disputes can become tragic victims when gunfire erupts in populated communities.

The Delray Beach Police Department is urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious around the time of the shooting to come forward. Information from the public could be critical in helping investigators piece together what happened.

This remains an active investigation, and authorities say additional details will be released as they become available.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Delray Beach police or submit tips anonymously.
