Jewish Family Services Steps Up for TSA Workers Hit by Pay Crisis

A beloved South Palm Beach County Jewish institution is once again proving that its mission extends well beyond the Jewish community.

On March 26, Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services announced that it is opening its Jacobson Family Food Pantry to Transportation Security Administration employees affected by the ongoing federal funding dispute that has delayed their paychecks. Boca Raton Tribune TSA workers with valid credentials can now register to receive food assistance at no cost.

“TSA workers play a vital role in keeping our community safe every day,” said Danielle Hartman, President & CEO of Rales JFS. “During this period of uncertainty, it is our turn to support them. No one should have to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table.” Boca Raton Tribune

The move reflects the broader ethos of Rales JFS, which has long served people of all backgrounds and beliefs across Boca Raton and Delray Beach. Its programs span food and financial assistance, senior services, behavioral health, and family and children’s services. Boca Raton Tribune

The gesture is particularly meaningful given the role TSA agents play at Palm Beach International Airport, which serves hundreds of thousands of South Florida travelers — including many in the Jewish community — each year. With federal budget uncertainty creating real hardship for government workers and their families, Rales JFS’s rapid response has drawn widespread praise from community members and local officials alike.

Those wishing to support the food pantry or access its services can contact Rales JFS at (561) 852-3333 or visit ralesjfs.org.
